The clock chimed this morning;
just like every other day.
But this was not that everyday.

This was the day dreaded since centuries...
This was the day that every religion
said would come; and hoped would not...
This was the Judgement Day,
the day to judge ourself...
This was the Armageddon,
the day myth and science prophesied...
This was the day earth changed sides,
the day, Nature unleashed her revenge...
the day, Fate overran Logic...

There were loves to be expressed,
apologies to be begged.
Good Byes to be said,
affection to be shared
and there were lives to be lived...

Now I stand awaiting the End...
The long running drama of Evolution
has reached the climax!
Its time for the scene to end,
and a new one to begin...
Its time for the stage to be emptied
for new actors to come in...
Since Adam and Eve, man ruled over earth;
but every dictator has his downfall...

Here, the ultimate tide rushing for me...
I smile for one last time
and the last tear dissolves into the wave...
Now, I dont hear the cries
nor the blasts and empty talks.
Now, I dont see blood,
nor the slaughter of kin and own...
I drown in the silence and the dark
into the solemn slumber...
