Without Wax

Abruptly the gadgets faint; when
the life through the sinew of wires stops.
When darkness engulfs the world around
causing the ephemeral blindness.
When modern age stands still, powerless;
there shimmers an ancient wisdom;
shines the prodigy of the inceptive discovery.
Cutting the darkness with the golden photons,
there, standing tall and solemn is the Chandelle!

Like the swaying alder trees,
flickers the flame with the mild breeze.
The flame that ignited the cognitive minds,
the rays that ignited the great works of science and art,
the luminosity by which Man searched himself.
There, is the light that enlightened Humanity.

Drawn by the lone lusture,
ventures too close the heroic fly.
Enchanted by the bright dancing lady,
drugged by her scent,
he dares the heat and vapour...
Is it when he sees it is a mirage;
that he sacrifices himself to her,
plunging into the fiery desire?
He fuels her and becomes one
with the light and the eternity!
Are those, the tears of grief, ma dame,
mourning the charred souls?
Is that why you dolefully burn
in the curches in repentance?

As the night grows,
I see you diminish.
Getting minute with every minute...
with that luminous aura,
melting like a saint, for Man...
Cheerfully dancing all the way down...
Giving the light, till the tragic climax,
eternally burning for Mankind, without wax...
